He is Risen! Do you know the reply that comes next? If you have spent anytime in church during Easter chances are you would have heard it. Someone says to you ‘He is Risen’ and you respond ‘He is Risen indeed.‘ Jesus is not dead. He’s Alive! Those who follow him follow a risen Saviour. Not only did Jesus die a horrible death on the cross for our sins BUT he was raised to life and is seated at the right hand of God! He is Risen - He is Risen Indeed!
It’s the Day after Easter Sunday, the day we celebrate him triumphantly walking out of the tomb. What do we do now? Just as his disciples and followers had to come to grips with what that meant and how much it was going to alter their lives I think we have to do the same. Because it can’t be business as usual for us. Just like the disciples couldn’t follow him for three years, watch him die and witness his resurrected self and be unaffected by it all, neither can we. We are the living testimony of Christ and His death and resurrection alters the course of our lives and our eternity, should we accept Him as Saviour. Loving as He has called us to love, being light and salt wherever we find ourselves, being His hands and His feet to the lost and hurting, being actively involved in disciple making. Is this what our lives look like? When we encounter people, so they see evidence of the resurrected Lord in us? It’s the day after and Jesus is Risen indeed. Let our lives be walking billboards of it.
