When you’re in the grips of grief, you often tend to think, “No one cares about my grief,” but Jesus cares!

1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him, for he cares for you.”

Countless millions are drawn to Jesus because during periods of grief because Jesus cares, and that is why you too can turn to Him.

Hebrews 4:15–16, “We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

When Lazarus died, Jesus and many others came to comfort Mary and Martha.

John 11:19, “Many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother.”

Jesus understands your grief well for, indeed, He was …

Isaiah 53:3, “A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”

We don’t understand all that happens to us in this life, but we know that God is GOOD always. He, in His infinite wisdom can use mourning in order to produce the ultimate healing of deep distress and sorrow.

Psalm 30:11, “You turned my wailing into dancing;

you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.”

This is your hope. You will mourn only for a season, and then your grief will end.

Ecclesiastes 3:4, “[There is] a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

Some people will tell you, “Be strong and stop crying.” Jesus was strong, yet He wept after Lazarus died.

John 11:35, “Jesus wept.”

Trust in Jesus, He will guide you safely through the process of grief, till you reach a place of emotional healing. Keep praying to Him.

Psalm 138:7, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.”

Psalm 31:9, “Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am in distress;

my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and my body with grief.”

In the end you can say, along with the apostle Paul:

Romans 5:3–5, “We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”
