Matthew 6:25 (NLT)
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?"

Worry Less

My friend; what are you worried about today? Worry has become an obsession in our modem world. But worry can be deadly! Medical science has closely tied worry to heart trouble, blood pressure problems, ulcers, thyroid malfunction, migraine headaches, and a host of stomach disorders.

Just look at all the things that Jesus says to not worry about. Don’t worry about everyday stuff, like finances. Don’t worry about food. Don’t worry about fashion. Don’t worry about health. Just don’t worry about these things. But don’t misunderstand what Jesus is saying here. He is not suggesting that you should not prepare for life, that you be lazy, shiftless, and thoughtless with a no-care attitude. God does not endorse slothfulness, or lack of initiative, or lack of planning and effort. You see; when we are so focused upon the things of the world, maybe even good things in and of themselves, it keeps us from walking in the fullness and enjoyment of the life God has for us.

Remember the two cardinal rules of life; RULE #1: “DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!” RULE #2: “IT’S ALL SMALL STUFF!” My precious friend; the antidote to worry is trusting God to take care of the small stuff of your life. Invite Him to get involved in the details of your life. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7 (The PASSION), “Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, FOR HE ALWAYS TENDERLY CARES FOR YOU.”
