James 1:5

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Perhaps You Need Wisdom

Here’s another thing that James says we will really need when trouble comes knocking at our doors. Sometimes, what we really need is wisdom.
When we’re at ground-zero in a trial, we may tend to cry out, “God, why me? But when was the last time you said “Lord, I need wisdom. Please use this trial to increase my wisdom and understanding of Your ways, and your plans for my life”?
I’m not talking about getting more knowledge. Wisdom is far more than the accumulation of information. The Biblical kind of wisdom is the ability to distinguish good from evil, truth from falsehood, and the important from the useless, and then to make timely decisions that conform to what is right. Wisdom doesn’t occur naturally in us, it is learned. This practical knowledge for living is a gift from God. Therefore, we must ask for it, without doubting the love of God, who always answers prayer.
Precious people, do you need Heavenly wisdom today? Then pray for it in humility and faith. The Bible says God will give to you generously. And He will not rebuke you for asking.
