Psalm32:5,

“Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”

And you forgave me! ALL MY GUILT IS GONE.”

GUILT IS REMOVED BY GOD

Many of us carry burdens of guilt that may make us feel anxious and depressed, or less responsive to the natural processes of healing.
All of this is the result of sin which causes guilt, and guilt can cause all kinds of emotional and physical baggage.
Perhaps you cheated someone in order to get ahead, or you failed to help someone who desperately needed it. Maybe you’ve neglected your family and now you’re estranged from them. Maybe you’ve frequently taken the Name of the Lord in vain. Perhaps it is a combination of several things.
It’s like your soul becomes a window covered with the dirt, and grime, of guilt, and therefore, everything that you look at is colored, or discolored by the guilt that’s there.
But there’s was a turning point. Are you ready for it? The turning point comes in Confession.
Proverbs 28:13, “People who CONCEAL their sins will not prosper, but if they CONFESS and TURN from them, they will receive mercy.”
Confession is like opening the floodgate of a dam. When there is no confession, the waters pile up behind the dam, creating immense pressures on the wall, but as soon as the floodgate is opened, the waters subside and the pressures diminish.
Deliverance comes when you and I resolve to end the cover-up, and the running away from God, allowing Him to wash, and cleanse, us from our sin.
Jesus did not die for mistakes. He did not die for weakness. He died for sin. Until we deal with sin as it is, we’ll never get rid of the ghost of guilt.
Psalm 68:19, “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, WHO DAILY BEARS OUR BURDENS.”
We all have our burdens. But whatever burdens you today; come now to Jesus Christ, the Burden-Bearer, before it is too late. No matter what your burden may be, Jesus offers to forgive, for He has paid the purchase price. If you will only come, He will not turn you away.
Confess the sin. Come clean with God. Give it to the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. And then, claim the solution. Don’t be haunted by the ghost of guilt.
