Passage - Hebrews 5

Verse - Hebrews 5: 11
We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.

 Forever Student

There are certain movies that I will watch repeatedly because I just love them. No matter the day, if they are on television chances are I’m going to stop and watch. However there are usually points in the film that aren’t my favourite and those portions I tend to bypass because I know what is going to happen. My familiarity with the story makes me feel like I can skip ahead, but really I am missing the entire feel of the film when I do that.
I think sometimes we Christians can have the same tendency with our faith. The idea and feeling that we have gotten all I can get or have learned all we can learn from God on a topic or an issue so we skip over a passage of scripture because what else could God possibly say? The truth? A whole lot. God is infinite and His wisdom  limitless, so if we believe that to be true how can we as humans ever exhaust any area of God? How could we possibly ever learn everything there is to learn about a passage or even a single scripture verse? We need God and to learn about God and to grow in our relationship with God everyday. It is vital that we put ourselves in the posture of a student every moment we spend with Him because we have so much to learn about who He is and what He says. Even if it is a passage of scripture that we can recite word for word, staying open and humble enough to allow God to impart His wisdom into our hearts will make our faith in Him and our dependence on Him stronger, because the more we learn the more we will see how much we need to learn.
