1 John 3:4 & 6,

“Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God…Anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.”

DISOBEDIENCE

Sin is disobedience. When God commands us to do something, and we don’t do it, that is sin. When He commands us not to do something, and we do it anyway, that is sin.
The Bible declares a tragic fact: if a person refuses to listen, and disobeys the Sovereign Creator of the universe, this person will suffer the curses of God. To disobey the Lord God, the only living and true God, is the highest contempt imaginable, a despicable, detestable act of rebellion.
Deuteronomy 28:15, “But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you.”
Disobedience is a relational matter. If we are to grow in our relationship with God and become strong people of prayer, we must learn to obey. Keeping free from sin is not enough. Neither is faith. If our mouths say that we believe, but our actions don’t back up that belief with a strong display of obedience, it shows the weakness of our belief. Obedience should be a natural outgrowth of faith in God. If you trust God, you’ll obey Him.
